Today, Jason and I headed South to Frisco to try and score some waves. After only one day on the water since my ankle injury, I was a bit nervous to paddle out into the overhead, sometimes closing out, rifling waves. We wound up surfing North of the Frisco Pier at a break with only a handful of guys out.

We were all having a great session as the waves got better and bigger. The energy just kept building, until our arms couldn’t take it anymore. I cruised on my 9’3 In The Pink to keep my ankle stress free and Jason wound up getting out his barrel board the Rawson pintail. We got out of the water a few hours later and headed to the Hatterasman Restaurant. With some amazing service and food, we gorged ourselves and drove back north to relax for the rest of the day.

Fall is Here in Cape Hatteras

Our first strong cold front has reached the Outer Banks. The chilly wind cooled things off quite a bit. The surf was fun, a little messy but the warm waters made it extra enjoyable. The die hards were out kiting while the wind was up this morning. I’m looking forward to more great kite and surfing sessions this Fall.

It’s Movember
This year Jason rounded up the crew and we are now all participating in Movember. We have all of November to (try) and grow a mustache. It’s a great/fun way to raise awareness and support for male cancer research. Here are some links:

Patagonia Crew in Cape Hatteras, NC

The Patagonia Crew has been in town for the last week. A few of us had the opportunity to head up there for dinner and drinks throughout the week. It was a blast every time we went up there. They have a great group of guys and the product is looking amazing too. They spent the week showing off the new gear/clothing lines, surfing, and some even learned to kite (…and liked it). Last night was most of their last in Cape Hatteras for this trip so I wanted to grab a couple fun photos before they all took off.

Fall Slick Kiteboarding Session

We had a great night with the REAL Watersports Team in The Slick the last few nights. Tonight was particularly fun, I made it out to shoot for about 20 minutes before the light went completely bad. I was playing around with motion blur for a while until the sun decided to peak through the clouds for an all time Cape Hatteras fall sunset. The guys/gals did their thing until the sun was gone. Everyone scored a few great shots!

Skate Session at the LGB Bowl

Everyone had a great skate session tonight. With the cooler temperatures brings us some of the nicest days of the year. Everyone was out enjoying themselves this Saturday. There was some small surf, wakeboarding and skateboarding going on today. I’m still on the sidelines with my ankle out of service for a while longer but it gave me an opportunity to shoot some skating for a change.
