Yesterday saw light winds so the crew packed up and went for a skate mission. We drove north to the KDH skate park. We skated there for a while, and then headed over to Wanchese to Mark Corbett’s Cheese Bowl. That bowl blew me away. I have been wanting to make it there for almost 4 years now. It is massive! The guys were ripping and everyone had a great day. We made it back in time to catch the band on the back deck of REAL and the after party.

Triple-S Invitational 2010 Day 2

Day two of the 2010 Triple-S was amazing. As to be expected, it was a very slow start after the mega parties the night before. We held the rider meeting around 11am. People hung out on the back deck until 2pm watching the live band and relaxing. The planet of the apes downwinder started at 2pm. I made my way up to the slick to meet up with the riders. It was WINDY. Everyone was throwing down and crashing a ton. Being 30-40 made riding and unhooking a challenge, but the riders were charging. Sam Light, Ruben, Aaron, Brandon, Burke and Rienstra were some of the standouts of the session.
After the downwinder everyone took a bit of a break and then headed back out for sunset nukefeast slider session. Chad, Brandon, Sammy, Dre and Greg were all killing it in the strong winds.

2010 Triple-S Day 1
Yesterday was the first day of the Triple-S Invitational. It was all time! We started the day finishing off all the loose ends like banner hanging and putting on the logos on the sliders. The rest of the day was hanging in the back yard of REAL waiting for all the pros to get into town and lots of sessions.

The REAL Slider park went out on the water around 3pm. We set it up in a line so you could hit one thing after another. It went wall ride, flatbar, dock, JWCF Slider. It was a blast and everyone was destroying it on the first day. This was all followed by a massive party at REAL with DJ Chela and then followed by an even better after party.

Robert August at REAL
I took a break from one shoot and headed back to REAL to shoot a couple images of the Robert August Line before he skipped town. It was a quick shoot as I had some of the crew there before hand to set up everything so I could just roll in at snap away. It was a cool way to do things so it went quickly, in order to get back to my other shoot without too much delay.

Memorial Day Weekend With Robert August & The Family

Robert August was at REAL Watersports for Memorial Day weekend. With lots of sessions to be had it made for a terrific weekend. Robert surfed, hung out at REAL, signed tons of autographs, and had a great time (it seemed).

My family was also in town this weekend, which was a blast, although short. We spent tons of time in the water, on the beach and eating way too much great food.

Surf Session in Rodanthe, NC
Cape Hatteras saw some more fun waves today. S-Turns boasted head high thumpers all day. There were some fun waves that made it worth heading out for a session. The rest were big closeouts that landed you in about 2 feet of water. None-the-less the crew had a great time.
