A Glassy Pamlico Sound Sunset

Today was a very calm day, with no wind or waves. I had plenty of time to catch up on a lot of things around the house. As the sun started to fall in the late fall sky, I packed up my gear and headed out to shoot. It was as glassy as I have seen it in a very long time. The light on the landscape was almost better an hour or so before sunset when it was nearly impossible to see the horizon. The sun’s reflection in the water was like a mirror, making some of the images seem as if there were two suns.
