The REAL Flaghip Store build out was intense. In between helping out moving into the new shop, I shot a quick video to look back on. The shop went from completely empty to full in a single night. It was an incredible transformation to see and be a part of.

backyard hangout
The wind was pretty crazy yesterday it was SW all day at nearly 23knts from Hatteras to Waves while Nags Head to Oregon Inlet was NW at 20knts. After work I headed to the Backyard of the REAL Lesson Center to see if there was a session. Negative, the wind was dying out just as I pulled up. There were a few new faces in town so I stuck around to hang out with everyone. Betsy Stuckey turned 21 and we all had a little get together for her. It was another terrific sunset that night as well:

Butter Box Session
This was a monuments session for me. I have waited a year to finally get the chance to hit the sliders here at REAL. Well this was the session. We took out the new butterbox to session. It blew SW and I was perfectly powered on my 8m. There was a great crew out for the session, nate, brandon, trevor nichole, lulu and stucky. We had a great time out there. This session really made me miss iibbing in the snowboard park but im getting excited about the JWCF Slider and the others as the season continues. Here are a couple shots after my session.

Swell in Hatteras, Again.
Cape Hatteras has been blessed with another sizey swell. The Lighthouse saw some heavy barrels, while Rodanthe had the size. The following are a few shots from the last couple days.

Strong winds in Hatteras
Well the winds have been turned on in Cape Hatteras the last few days. This has provided us with great surf and very interesting weather. It blew dead East at 40 all day yesterday causing flooding over Hwy. 12. As the first massive front came over it brought along an amazing lightning display, which we watched for a few hours. These are a couple photos from the last few days.

This is a view looking south from the Cape Hatteras 1st Jetty at a breaking wave.
With it blowing 40 knots all day your bound to have some interesting looking skies. This is my first attempt at a panorama. The left side of the photo is The Slick Island. Please view this image as large as possible.
This is a shot at the lighthouse where people were going to watch the surfers battle the heavy waves. The sand pelted your skin but it was well worth it.
This is Bonner Bridge. This bridge links Nags Head to the Cape Hatteras Islands.

This last shot is of a rather large wave about to break at the 1st Jetty. Its a pretty heavy wave with a pretty thick lip even with the 40 knots of wind. -
Avon Sunset
Nick and I went over to chris’ place for dinner and to hangout yesterday. While we were there we scored yet another terrific sunset. I also grabbed a couple shots of chris paddleboarding before the sunset really got going.

Summer is back
Summer is back. I have had a total of 6 board short sessions this week already. We all had a terrific weekend of sessions. Saturday i meet up with chris and his girl who were in town from santa cruz. We did a planet run which was my first of the year. later that night i shot in the Slick for a while and traded kties with brandon. Sunday Dave Lewis and i did two downwinders from SDA to the back yard.

Fake Wedding
The Spa Koru in Buxton staged a “fake” wedding for a commercial that they are working on. Joe let me come over and take a few shots. I unfortunately missed most of it because of work but got there in time to grab a couple shots.
