I headed up to the Avon Pier to snap a couple shots of the sunrise this morning. Here are a couple of the images:

Weekend Wrap Up
Friday I took a split at work and rode my 17m Fuel until I had the chicken loop rope break on me again. Other than that it was a good session and it was good to get back on the water again after so long.
Saturday there was no wind so we surfed all day. Tommie and I did dawn patrol at Joe P beach then took a a break for breakfast. Then headed back to Joe P for a couple waves. Zack came to tell us to head to the hotels and that’s were we surfed for the rest of the day. (where the pictures are from below) Rachel, Shannon, dave and I headed up to waves for the Demolition party at the slick house. It was great to see and hang out with everyone.
Saturday, Nick, Dave, Carrie and I headed to airport road for a little standup paddleboarding action. We had a very fun session.

Sunset & Sunrise
Not much for a surf session last night so I got out the camera instead of playing in the knee to maybe thigh high wave. Jerome from MI is in Hatteras so we grabbed a drink last night and hopefully he will get some wind today and tomorrow before he heads home. I got up early again to shoot but didn’t get many good ones.

Image in SBC Kiteboard
The 25th Issue of SBC Kiteboard Magazine was released and I got a picture in it. It is a small image but it was used. The shot is on the top left corner of page 26. The picture is of Davey Blair and 2 of his Chucktown buddies what were up during the Triple-S Rebuild of the infamous Camel Toe Slider.

Weekend Wrap Up
Well its was another fun and exhausting weekend. However there was no wind to be found this weekend. But there were shoulder-head high + waves all weekend. The whole crew surfed all weekend long. Saturday we surfed at the lighthouse and the hotels and Sunday I scored 4 2+ hour surf sessions at the hotels. It looks like I graduated from tommie’s rocket program. This is where you learn to surf on the 9’1 then move to the destroyers 8’ then 7’. After that it’s to the Rockets, the 6’8 to the 6’4 and then the 5’10.
This weekend I finally, legitimately, got up on my Chamber 6’3. Friday, I headed to the light house and the waves were rather large and knew it would have been a heck of a time paddling out a 9’ board past the break and there were a ton of surfers out already so I figured it go play around on the chamber. That session I stood up on 2 waves and on the last one got in a small bottom and top turn in. Sunday it was chamber all day long. I got a couple good backside and frontside hacks in. I’m very happy to be able to surf and kite my one board now, as long as there are some good waist + surf around. I took the shots from the water below, and Carrie took the others.
PS: Thank goodness for Body Glide, The best stuff ever for anti-chafe !!!

The Cove Surf Sessions
The cove has been going off for surfing the last few days. With the light off shore breeze the waves have been very fun at the cove. Nick and I went and surfed there yesterday at lunch. I rocked the Jimmy Lewis 5’10 Rocket and Nick was on his JL 11’0 Standup Paddleboard. We went back again after work at 6 with the whole crew. And again for dawn patrol this morning. These shots are from the morning session.

weekend Wrap Up
Well I am wrecked after a long weekend of kiting. Saturday Nick and I got up early to hit up the lighthouse hoping that all the surfers from the ESC had left. We showed up and two surfers headed out as we were rigging up our gear. We rode for 1-2 hours and by the time we were done it was like dodging buoys. We headed to Kite Point after that. We were al lit up on the smallest kites we could find. Dave, Tommie and I took out the portakicker finally. It was fun but pretty carzy hitting the jump. I think a slider would be a bit more up my ally. Slezy, Sam and JB showed up with the floating kicker and a bucket truck for a little photoshoot. After a while I called it quits and headed to do a downwinder ocean side. We headed back to KP where the Kicker session resumed until dark.
Sunday was much the same. I rode at the lighthouse from 8 to 12 then took a break. Went back to the lighthouse again a few hours later. After that we headed to KP for a mini slider session/sunset photoshoot. It was a great weekend over all.
(EDIT): CLICK on the image below to see a little video taken by Elliott Gould of the weekend. (i’m the one on the surfboard)
