The guys and gals took out some of the REAL Slider Park features for a wakeboarding session. It was a beautiful calm evening. Everyone took turns driving and then hitting the sliders until the sun went down.

A Stormy Pamlico Sound
A few smaller storm cells passed over us today. There was nothing like yesterday’s light show, but it was still a great sight to see, especially with a nearly full moon rising over the ocean.

Lightning in Rodanthe, NC
Last night in the Outer Banks of North Carolina I headed out after work to see what the rumbling dark skies had to offer. Mel, Nate Appel and I made our way to the dunes behind the house to post up the gear. The storm came in from the SE and as it did, spider lightning exploded over our heads as the setting sun light up the ominous and rapidly approaching storm for an amazing view!

The Failed Planet Slick Shoot
Right before I left for the Liquid Force Photo Shoot, I was finally able to gather a crew of riders to go shoot in The Planet Slick. I wanted to test out a way in which I could shoot with the crew in a more remote location other than the “REAL” Slick or use of a jetski. I found a great waterproof backpack with enough room for 2 lenses and a body, and so we were on our way. It was 17-19 knots SW when we left mile marker 47. We buzzed downwind to the slick where the guys got off about 2 tricks before the wind started to shut down from a huge front moving in. The wind dropped to 12-14 knots, which made getting back quite laborious. All in all it was a bust for shooting but the concept worked!

Liquid Force ’12 Shoot Day 10 & 11
The trip has come to an end. The shots are in the bag and the catalog is one step closer to completion. The gear looks amazing, so all you LF fans out there should be looking forward to great things to come.

Liquid Force ’12 Shoot Day 8 & 9
We had some ok wind with great light on the 8th. Brandon and James bagged some shots. The 9th was a pretty mellow day with light wind. We focused on some non-shooting work and were able to get a lot of things out of the way.

Liquid Force ’12 Shoot Day 6 & 7
It’s still been super windy with intermittent clouds. It was James’ birthday so after shooting, the Angulo’s crew made us a giant mix of punch in a bowl to celebrate. We had a bunch of good times hanging with the team.

Our State: Weather & Waves
Our State Magazine of North Carolina ran a feature on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. They displayed a few of my favorite storm photos from the 2009 November storm. I was very pleased as to how they printed and looked in the magazine! If you picked up a copy, what did you think?
