I got to shoot this roll on a Konica Autoreflex TC with Tri-X 400 iso film. All of the shots were on a 50mm 1.7 lens and I focused on shooting portraits. I was pretty happy with the feel of the images and how the camera was to use. It has a great shutter release sound too. The Konica is much easier to focus than the Leica which was very welcomed.

Sailing with Team Kokomo
I was invited to sail with Team Kokomo. They raced on Wednesday in the Traverse City Bay. It’s been a while since I’ve been on a boat. So, it was great to be on the water again.
The crew was preparing for the Chicago race coming up in a few weeks. Everyone on the boat was very nice. We arrived around 5:30 to see the crew start to prepare the boat to leave dock. We headed out into the bay as the sails for the event were chosen and raised.
The course was announced over the radio. The boats jockeyed to start the race and then with a sound of the horn the race was off. With the light wind the sailing became technical. They closely watched the water and clouds to find the strongest winds. There were a few reaches we had some solid wind.
The team raced well and finished in 2nd place. We missed 1st by some 30 seconds. I had a great time and thanks for having me onboard.

Photos from the 3rd Dave Tuck Skate Jam
The 3rd Dave Tuck Skate Jam was one for the books. There was a great turn out even with the HOT and humid weather. The level of skating was very impressive. I haven’t seen airs like that in a very long time.
The addition of the best big air trick and best trick over the stairs was a highlight for me. It was great to see everyone out there having a blast and riding hard.

Grand Rapids Bike & Wake Day
It was a power Sunday. Jon, Edgar and I headed to Grand Rapids to ride mountain bikes and then hit the cable park.
It was a perfect Spring day with the sun out and temps in the 70s. We first went to the Merrell Trail North of Grand Rapids. It was a really fun flow trails. It featured really nice down hill runs with relatively mellow climbs. We rode about 10 miles and loved it all except the ride back to the car.
I then packed up and meet Casey to ride the new Action Wake Park just South of town. It was the first clock-wise cable I have ridden. The place is awesome. solid features and nice people. I was pretty wreaked from the trails earlier but had a bunch of fun laps. Thanks to Casey and Edgar who took a few shots. All in all an amazing day!

First run at the Potawatomi Trail
I headed out with Edgar to tackle part of the Potawatomi Trail. We planned to ride a nice 5 mile ride to get warmed up as it was my first time out this year.
The Potawatomi Trail is located near Dexter, Michigan and is part of the Pinckney Recreation Area. The riding was great. the rails don’t seem as technical but the climbs and rides down were longer. The trail is on 11k acres of beautiful land. I believe there are close to 17 miles of bike trails.
It is a beautiful ride with lake views and amazing wooded areas, which was great to look while we were catching our breaths. Our little adventure turned a little longer when we took a wrong turn which sent us further west than anticipated. We wound up riding over 11 miles. Exhausted but awesome.

Lighting up the Ann Arbor Skate Park
We had a fun evening session. I broke out the strobes and shot for a few hours at the Ann Arbor Skate Park. The weather was perfect and we grabbed a couple of keepers.

Spring Lake Huron Surf
We traveled up to the thumb to find a few waves this weekend. The wind direction was great leading up to our mission, but it shifted North just before we arrived. By the time we headed out into the line up, the waves were on the small side. The wave that did make it in was really clean and provided a nice long ride. We surfed for 2-3 hours.
