In the weeks leading up to the 2010 Triple S Invitational, LF Kiteboarding and REAL Watersports teamed up to create a set of sliders built entirely of reused materials. Dubbed the Liquid Force Recycled Wallride and Kicker, this short segment covers the concept, building and first session with these unique park style features.

The pouring of the concrete begins. Jason’s ramp is going to a whole new level. Some of the crew was there to help master builder Mark Corbett lay the concrete.

  • Robert August at REAL

    BRYANELKUS_152866

I took a break from one shoot and headed back to REAL to shoot a couple images of the Robert August Line before he skipped town. It was a quick shoot as I had some of the crew there before hand to set up everything so I could just roll in at snap away. It was a cool way to do things so it went quickly, in order to get back to my other shoot without too much delay.

  • Memorial Day Weekend With Robert August & The Family

    BRYANELKUS_150485
Robert August was at REAL Watersports for Memorial Day weekend. With lots of sessions to be had it made for a terrific weekend. Robert surfed, hung out at REAL, signed tons of autographs, and had a great time (it seemed).

My family was also in town this weekend, which was a blast, although short. We spent tons of time in the water, on the beach and eating way too much great food.

  • Surf Session in Rodanthe, NC

    BRYANELKUS_146131

Cape Hatteras saw some more fun waves today. S-Turns boasted head high thumpers all day. There were some fun waves that made it worth heading out for a session. The rest were big closeouts that landed you in about 2 feet of water. None-the-less the crew had a great time.

  • S-Turns Kitesurfing Downwinder

    BRYANELKUS_144322

After a long morning shooting, I headed out for a downwinder with Nate Appel and Julien Fillion. It was big! The ocean was angry yesterday with way over head sized waves breaking as far as the eye could see. We started out at kiting lit at S-turns on 12m kites. The inside was hackable while, the rest of the downwinder, was not nearly as fun. I also somehow took a couple chunks out of my board and my finger.

My new photo book arrived. This book is from my trip to the Galapagos. The book turned out AMAZING, the best one yet! It’s a massive 300 full color 11×13” pages. It’s as close as you can get with out going!

  • Wedding in the OBX

    BRYANELKUS_143262
Friday, REAL hosted their first wedding. It was a perfect night with very light winds and a picture perfect sunset. After a great ceremony by the shore of the Pamlico Sound, the party moved up to the back lawn where there was a huge tent and a dance floor. Everyone seemed to have a great time as they partied well into the night.

  • Wake Session

    BRYANELKUS_141517

It was a busy day getting graphics ready for the Triple-S Invitational. After work Slezy, Lulu and I took out a ski for some slider hits. It was a fun session with the lack of wind it was very glassy. We picked up Stuckey and grabbed a quick sunset surf before calling it a day.
