The deep freeze continues on the Cape Hatteras, NC as the temperature again drops sub-32 degrees. Not only was it cold but the winds have been very strong in the 30-40 knot range out of the NW. This caused much of the sound to freeze near the Slick.

Warmer in the OBX, but not warm enough
It was a bit warmer today, which started to melt the ice. It was still too chilly to go for a session, but headed outside for a few minutes to snap a couple pics in the backyard.

Breaking the Ice
It has been darn right cold this week on the Outer Banks. Knowing quite well that in a week I will be in crystal clear blue warm water, it has been incredibly difficult to make a session happen in the sub freezing weather.
I decided to take a quick walk out to the end of the dock at REAL to take a couple photos as this is the first time I have seen the boat basin freeze. Enjoy…

New Years Kinnakeet Style
We headed down to Avon to meet up with Sam, Justin, Grace and Jenn for a New Years celebration. Sammy and a few others spent quiet a while gathering a massive pile of wood for a bonfire. It also decided to rain all day on the 31st, which made lighting the fire challenging, but the guys made it happen.

Happy New Year 2010
I wanted to wish everyone a very happy New Year. I have a feeling its going to be another great one. Stay tuned right here for all the updates.
While, January is cold in most of the US its defiantly not in the British Virgin Islands. Luckily that’s the REAL BVI Trip is headed and I get to go along. After that we head straight to Puerto Rico for R&R the REAL Photo Shoot with Matt Keenan, Josh Mulcoy and the rest of the REAL Team.

Beautiful Morning on the Beaches of the OBX
We were out driving around looking for a good wave. We didn’t end up finding anything too exciting, but it was a great morning on the beach!

REAL 2010 T-Shirt Designs
Designing the spring/summer REAL 2010 photo shoot T’s was a blast. Even though we were under an extremely tight deadline, I was very excited on how well they came out. I worked closely with the REAL Team Manager, Jason Slezak, on the design and layouts. After narrowing the design from 15 options to 2, all that was left was to choose color and layout. The hardest part about choosing the colors was anticipating how the ink and T’s would look when wet. Some color ink and Shirt react very differently that would be expected. We decided on these two shirts.

2009 Holidays
It was a great week off of work. Mel and I headed back up to MI for the week. We got to hang out with family and friends. I picked up my truck and we drove back down to NC.
