  • Kiteworld Issue 41

    BRYANELKUS_67262

The latest issue of Kiteworld came out. I’ve been waiting on this one of a while. This issue had my photos of Claire and Charley. Charley created and designed a dress out of an old kite. Claire did the modeling and I shot my first pseudo fashion photo a few months ago. Words by Ryan Evans.

There are also a few photos in there from the Mt. Hood Trip in an article written by Chris Burke.

  • Wakeboard Session | REAL Slider Park

    BRYANELKUS_87058

With East winds killing the surf and not enough to kite so some of the crew pulled out some of the REAL Slider Park. The JWCF Slider and the REAL Butter Box found their way out of the boat basin to the Pamlico Sound for some shredding! I took pictures and then hit the water for a couple pulls. It was a great evening. Thanks for everyone pulling the sliders out, driving, riding and cleaning up!

  • NE Kitesurf Session

    BRYANELKUS_86605

Thursday was an amazing day of kitesurfing in Cape Hatteras, NC. The waves jacked up to overhead high and the winds peaked out at a steady 20 knots. Tommie and I headed out during lunch for a quick session. We both scored some insanely fun waves. I rode a 12m Havoc and a 5’10 LF Rawson Quad (which I found out was a little small for me). Tommie came very close to getting barreled, while I was having fun making turns.

The ERGO Crew was out watching and seemed stoked on what they saw. They were the ones sitting on the beach missing a session! I think we gave them a glimpse into what is possible with a kite and blown out surf. The waves were so fun we both headed straight back to the ocean for another session after work. I rode for about an hour and then headed to the Sound to shoot Brandon Scheid and the rest of the REAL Crew.

Melissa took a couple shots of us during the evening session, thanks.

The newest issue of the Standup Journal made its way to the REAL Shop today. A couple shots from my winter trip to Maui snuck in there. There is a Kite shot at Lanes, and a shot of Bryan Altham paddling out. Take a look…

  • ERGO Surf AM & PM Skate Session

    BRYANELKUS_85956

I again meet up with the Ergo crew this morning. As we walked over the dune, we found a slightly smaller and less clean wave than the day before. The guys were still amped to get out and catch some waves. I was right behind.

    BRYANELKUS_86038

It was insane to get a front row seat to watch them in action. I don’t know how they can just destroy the 1-2 foot waves that were coming in, but they sure did. We were out for a little over an hour. It was pretty good when we first got out and slowly faded out as the tide dropped out.

After work I headed over to Slezy to watch some of the guys skate the almost finished bowl. I got a couple shots off the before the mosquitoes canceled us.

  • Shooting with ERGO Crew

    BRYANELKUS_85252

Zack and I had a nice longboard session at sunrise this morning. Then I get a call from REAL Surf Team Rider Matt Keenan telling me that he and the ERGO guys showed up. I headed out with them all morning for an extended surf. Some of the crew consisted of: Matt Keenan, Rob Kelly, Pete, Shea Lopez, Brendan Buckley and crew… The guys were just killing it. It was a blast to watch them all destroy the small barrels that were coming through.

They surfed out front of their house for a couple hours. They were getting shacked left and right. It was great to shoot with the guys on a smaller day as they were just out having a blast and so was I. Check out the action below:
