One of my images was published in an Ad for REAL Watersports in Surfer Magazine. It is one of my favorite wave shots from the First Jetty at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. The Ad was laid out and designed by JD Media.

  • On The Road Again…

It’s that time again. I get to hit the road and travel a bit. I am heading out to the Gorge for the first time tomorrow. Accompanying me on this trip are REAL Team riders, Lulu, Brandon Scheid, Jason Slezak, Sam Bell and Claire Lutz. We are going out to ride, shoot and hang with the Westside crew. 2nd Wind and The Slider Project have been busting it hard to make this event happen, and we are more than stoked to make it out for it. There are going to be a great group of people out there for the event, which I’m looking forward to almost as much as seeing all the amazing sights up in the Northwest.

Jason, Sam and I are staying a few extra days to get some work done then we are all headed to NY for the REAL Alumni Retreat. It’s going to be a great weekend of riding and parties. Come join if you can! Ill try and keep things up to date over the next couple weeks.

Here is my gear for the next 2 weeks:

  • Sunday Surf and Kite

    BRYANELKUS_57661

It was a great Sunday. Mel and I ventured down to the Southside. We stopped at Orange Blossom for a breakfast then headed down to Frisco to surf. There wasn’t much of a wave but it was perfect for Mel to practice. She almost caught her first wave, which was awesome. The water was so clear and warm.

We headed back up to Waves and by the time we got back up there, the wind kicked in. Scotty, Otto and I headed out to kite. I rode my 14m and surfboard quickly becoming powered. After a pretty good session I was coming in to get my wake board and I hit the lip and the board flew out from under me and my arm took the fin out of the board breaking the fin box. My arm is well hurting at this point. I headed back into to the beach and Scotty landed my kite and I headed home to heal.

  • Surf at S-Turns

    BRYANELKUS_57283

It was a fantastic day off. Scott, Mel, Heidi, Trevor, brian and I headed over to S-Turns for a paddle. It was a hot day and the waves were not to good but we decided to head out and surf anyways. There was a small bump and we took full advantage. I brought the camera to document the madness, well at least the fun.

  • Morning Kite, Sunset Shoot

    BRYANELKUS_56885

It was finally windy. It seems like it has been a while since I have rode since I have been out of the water healing my shin. Kevin Steen and I shot Greg Norman early in the morning to catch some of the good light before it got to late. I headed out for a quick session at lunch. The boys took out the new JWCF slider. I took two hits on it before my boot came off my board. I headed in and headed back to work.

A storm rolled in as the last few hours of work clicked past. The sun poked through for a great sunset. I headed down to the beach to shoot the sunset. Zack called me up to see if I could shoot a pick of his family who were in town still. It was a blast taking pics with everyone.

I also posted a couple photos from when Mel and I went to Pea Island.

  • Fun Surf at Sea Haven

    BRYANELKUS_56316

It was a busy day at work. We have been swamped with post Triple-S work. We have been getting things rolling at REAL again. I headed out into the water for the first time in almost a week. Mel and I headed out to Sea Haven to go for a surf. It turned out that there was quite the crew already out there. It was waist high and playfull. I played around with the camera a bit!

  • Triple-S Invitational Day 7

    BRYANELKUS_55047

Day 7 of the Triple-S was the last day of the event. It was cloudy and very windy. We headed up to the slick to do some flat water but everyone was very over powered on their small kites. After a quick session we all headed to Ramp 27 to hit the waves. Ian, Sammy and Reo were killing it. It was a great session. Then it was a great closing and awards party. Overall the Triple-S was a great time. After spending countless hours in the water shooting i’m glad to have come away with a few keepers.

  • Triple-S Invitational Day 6

    BRYANELKUS_54344

Day 6 of the Triple-S Invitational was a no session day. The wind held strong at about 12 knots. I spent all day editing photos and getting my media in order. It was a much needed day or catch up and hanging out with everyone.

  • Triple-S Invitational Day 5

    BRYANELKUS_48718

Triple-S day 5 was another long day of riding. I took a session early with Brandon and Sam. We hit the JWCF Slider for a couple hours. As the light got better, I headed in to get ready to shoot. We took some guys up to a slick to shoot some flat water with surfboards. Then I headed down to the slick to shoot sliders. I shot the JWCF Slider again, then headed over to the flat bar and then the kicker. As the sunset started to blow up, we shot the dock as aaron, petter, Brandon, Dylan and billy were hitting the dock. It was a very long but great day shooting.
