  • Triple-S Invitational Day 4

    BRYANELKUS_48809

The Triple-S went off yesterday. The boys dragged all the sliders up into The Slick. The SW wind picked up around 1pm and then it was on. Everyone was riding very well. The girls were charging it on the new JWCF Slider. All of them made it end to end. The riders rode all day and into the night. It was a great day of riding, and a very long day of shooting.

Day 4 of the Triple-S Invitational was a lax day. There was minimal wind so instead of trying to chase down the best session on large kites, we decided to give everyone a break. We did rider interviews all day. I took a bunch of headshots and lifestyle stuff, while Nate and Chris shot video.

I had a great little bbq at Tommie’s house with a bunch of the Naish crew. Then I headed over to shoot some wakeboarding on the new JWCF slider with the help of Mel and Brian Wheeler. I got a couple cool shots of LF rider Barret Perlman, SS rider Ruben Lenten and Flexi rider Billy Parker. Camp-F was rocking out on the back deck of REAL all night.

  • Triple-S Invitational Day 2

The second day of the Triple-S Invitational consisted of a lot of riding! We first had a riders meeting under the Red Bull tent to gather everyone for the days events. The riders headed up to the launch while we took jet skis up. I posted up to shoot at two locations. I shot in the planet slick and in a canal to the north of there.

After the downwinder I headed out for a kite. I sessioned the Triple-S Flat Bar with Jake and Dre for about an hour and then headed back out to shoot the REAL Slider Park in front of REAL. The new JWCF Slider made its debut during this session. Sam Bell and Jason Slezak were the first to take hits on the new slider. The thing is solid. It is going to be interesting to see what they can do on it in flat water. We shot that slider for the rest of the night.

The 2009 Triple-S Invitational has officially started, and it did it with a BANG! The day was pretty mellow with no wind. The riders and spectators were hanging out in the backyard of REAL all day playing soccer, wakeboarding, standup paddleboarding and just relaxing.

  • Triple-S Prep

    BRYANELKUS_43188

Yesterday was the last day before the Triple-S Invitational started. Which meant that we had a lot of work to do. Of course it was also cranking SW wind all day! Most of the competitors arrived today. We worked hard all day getting up the graphics painting sliders etc. We even got to take a couple sessions. My new Water housing came in today which was fantastic!

I also hit the dock slider for the first time. The new JWCF Slider rolled into town yesterday on two flatbed trailers. It was quite the spectacle. The slider is in a class all of its own. This thing is going to be the next step for kiteboarding sliders. Coming in at around 80 feet the slider is a good distance longer than the old Red Bull Slider. It should prove for some interesting sessions!

I ended the day with a kite session hitting the dock with Mauricio, then heading home for a late dinner with Mel, Nate Appel, Joby and Lauren Cook, Scotty and Dylan.

  • Triple-S Preparations

    BRYANELKUS_41778

It was another crazy day getting ready for the Triple-S. We have nearly everything ready to roll. The only thing I’m waiting on is the waterhousing, which should arrive tomorrow. The new JWCF Slider arrives first thing in the morning tomorrow as well.

After a good day of work and a night meeting with everyone for REAL the wind turned SW. I headed out for a solo session in the slick. Dylan and Joby were already out riding the dock when I got out of the meeting. I took a few laps in the slick and came in to shoot some of the dock action. Dylan was killing it! Nick Baines and Brian Smith were also doing damage. It was good to have some wind again!

  • 3 Days left til Triple-S

    BRYANELKUS_41504

Yesterday was another hectic day getting things ready for the Triple-S Invitational. The biggest problem of the day was getting the new cameras setup to begin editing on our software. It turned into a bit of a headache trying to import from the memory card straight into FCP. But we got it figured out and are ready to shoot. The graphics for the sliders also arrived today. Sammy and Jason started applying them. The layouts and diecuts turned out great! I’m really excited about how they came out. Pictures to come soon!

After a very long day of putting out fire drills relating to the Triple-S, I had a great dinner with the family. We then headed to Jason’s for another skate session.
