Yesterday saw a near perfect alignment of the stars. We had great wind, great wind direction, good waves, and blue skies. We gathered up the REAL Team and headed down south. Jason Slezak, Sam Bell, Brandon Scheid, Ryan Evans meet up with Jay Crawford and some of the other local kiters and headed out for a great side-off session. The waves were not nearly as amazing as they were the night before but they would do.
Slezy was pushing it by pulling into more barrels than Iād ever seen kited in Cape Hatteras. Everyone else was holding their own in the angry looking ocean. The current was raging while the barrels were dredging in the waist high ocean bottom.
The crew rode for a few hours while we shot and took video. We grabbed a quick lunch at low tide hoping the waves would fill back in. When we arrived back at the riding spot it was pretty disorganized and not enough water to make the barrels happen so we called it a day and headed home.
We made it back just in time to get a bit of work done and for a great but simple sunset, which made for a great end to the day.
