Spring in the OBX
We had an terrific time back in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We went kiteboarding, surfing and hungout with good friends. We also got to meet some of the GoPro Bomb Squad who jumped over the backyard of REAL. I also got in a couple good shots of the guys kiteboarding in The Slick, so stay tuned. All in all a terrific time!

East Coast Wake Park
Brandon Scheid, Rich Sabo and I made the hike out the East Coast Wake Park on a no wind day. This was the first time I rode a 2.0 cable. We all had a great time during a private session at the park. Other than a broken GoPro Camera and a huge failed rally it was an amazing day. Here is a video of the guys ridding the cable park.

West Michigan Kiteboarding
With a strong North front heading i from Wisconsin and Canada, chatter started early in the week about the possibility of some fun sessions on Lake Michigan. The buoy read 23ft and the winds were 40-50 knots when Rob and I arrive at South Haven to find a handful of surfers and a couple kiters out on 4-5m kites. We hung around for a while and decided to head north to see find a less wind location. We made it to Grand Haven. The winds were less but the waves were also much smaller. We headed out and rode until the sunset next to the lighthouse!

SBC Kiteboard #41
SBC Kiteboard issue #41 came out. They ran one of my favorite shots from the Outer Banks Storm Photos I took last year of Brandon on the last sand dune with water rushing by. A shot of Dre tail tapping a tower of tires. That shoot took us a very long time to set up but well worth it! Brandon Scheid‘s huge tantrum from the Slick in the OBX was followed by a night rail shot of Brian Smith. Eric Rienstra closed out the issue with a sunset slider shot.
