  • Kiteboarding Magazine May 09

    Kiteboarding Magazine Releases its 10th year anniversary issue. Lou Wainman scored the well-deserved cover shot by Tracey Kraft.

    REAL ran an ad congratulating the magazine on ten years. I shot this shot with the help of Jason Slezak, Matt Nuzzo and Trip Forman. The shot was supposed to be taken for the article on Matt and Tip in the issue. We chose a different shot to use in the ad. Layout by JD.

    The Triple-S ad also ran in this issue. With input for Jason Slezak and Chris Stephany, I was able to crank this one out in record time.

  • Brandon Scheid in The Kiteboarder

    The new issue of The Kiteboarder showed up while Jason and I were in Utah on the REAL Team ’09 Snowkite trip. This shot of Brandon Scheid made it into the magazine. The shot was taken around dusk at Kite Point, NC.

    SBC Kiteboard Magazine recently released their 2009 Buyers’ Guide Issue. I wrote an intro for a 6 page feature on Jason Slezak. Another of my favorite shots of Brandon Scheid also made it into this issue. Brandon is doing a huge tweaked Nuclear grab over my head in the Slick.     The Triple-S Ad showed up in the new Kiteboarding magazine. The design was taken from the Triple-S Sponsorship Package Proposal.  The background photography is a mixture of Bilderback and Elkus photos.

    The February 2009 Issue of The Kiteboarder arrived. Two shots ran in this issue. The first issue is of Scott Laney wearing a gorilla suit boosting with a solid grab in the Slick. The second shot is of Trevor Murchie. This was taken on an unexpected winter SW day. We pulled out a couple sliders and a bunch of the crew came out to ride.

    The March 2009 Issue of Kiteboarding Magazine arrived. The shot of mine that ran this issue is of Brandon Scheid. This was taken in early 2008 during one of my first shoots with the boys in the Slick. Brandon is doing a powered slim-chance in this photograph.

    The New issue of The Standup Journal came out. In this one is a shot of mine taken in Cape Hatteras, NC near the Rodanthe Pier. The portrait shot of Brandon Scheid and Trevor Murchie was taken shortly after a fun session as a storm was rolling in. Here is the caption:

    “North Carolina late summer days overbaked by the time the clock reads 5:59 p.m. A group of buds raced out of work, found an empty break and were in the water and –refreshingly cool with waist-to-chest-high sets starting to show from then still far off “tropical depression Ike.” The amazingly textured sky was lit beautifully by the falling sun. It was too much for me to take, so I surfed my last wave into shore, bolted across the beach to my truck and swapped out a board for a camera. My friends Brandon Scheid and Trevor Murchie, Real Watersports instructors and riders, were so beat that it was easy to assemble them without a fuss for this portrait.” -Bryan

    Imagine surfboards used a shot of Julien that i took during one of the good waves session in Hatteras this fall. This is one of his new designs for Standup Paddleboards.
