After a little time out in the water I packed it up and headed over to meet up with the crew for a skate. They guys were killing it. Everyone is starting to get really good. Its been cool to watch the progression. -
Sunrise Shoot in Cape Hatteras, NC
It was another great morning in Cape Hatteras, Nc. With warm morning light, but cool temps, i grabbed the Canon EOS-1D Mark IV and headed to the Rodanthe Pier to shoot the sunrise. After a great sunrise with the pier, I headed around the island to see what i could find.I’m really starting to love this camera. I have had a little issue with the focusing not being spot on, but i’m going ot play with some setting and get it dialed in. Another thing i was a little concerned about was the auto focus in low light, it just didn’t want to do it.

Testing the Canon EOS-1D Mark IV
Yesterday a Canon EOS-1D Mark IV arrived at my office for a little demo. I was very egger to check it out. I am now on a shooting mission to play with this amazing piece of equipment. I headed out to S-Turns to shoot they guys going on a downwinder with a NE breeze. The camera is big, sturdy and fast! Its fps are almost double my Canon 40D’s. The coolest thing is that it shoots HD video. I found myself wanting to shoot more video than shoot pictures.

Windsurfing Shoot in Cape Hatteras
I was a very busy day at work especially after a long photoshoot the night before. The wind was cranking all day from the SW. Everyone was out riding, lessons were going out and I was inside working…
I headed out from work and went south to Avon to meet up with Stu for a photoshoot. I was psyched, as this shoot was a windsurfing shoot. I have never shot windsurfing before, let alone see this caliber of riders do their thing up close.
We headed out into the sound for a couple hours to shoot. Also in town were some of Stu’s buddies who were ripping! After getting what we needed, I rigged up my kite for a quick session sunset with them. It was a blast they were hauling across the water and I was just boosting in the 25-30 knots. It was a great evening.
