  • Jimmy Lewis/REAL Business Card

    BRYANELKUS_15162

This was a business card designed for REAL’s Jimmy Lewis wholesale representative. There was not a whole lot of room to deviate on this project, however the 15pt double-sided clay coat gives the card an impressive feel in your hand. The clay coat gives you a smooth soft feel to your hand, while the 15pt board gives terrific rigidity. The front of the card displays the representative’s contact information along with REAL’s Company information and logo top-centered on the card. The back of the card had Jimmy Lewis’ logo centered and full framed to give the best exposure, while not be covered up by finger when holding the card.

  • Spartan Kiteboarding Logo

This is a graphic for the Michigan State Spartan Kiteboarding Club. It is good to see that since both myself and Tom have graduated, its good to see the club in good hands. The Club has been slowly growing with increased interest from the student body. The Spartan Kiteboarding Clubs new site is up, HERE.

    Triple-S Invitational 2008

The Triple-S went off again this year. All the big names in the kiteboarding world came, Dre, Slezy, Aaron, Ruben and many more. I was increadibly busy all week cranking out newsitems and the videos from each day’s sessions. The following 6 videos were done during the week of the Triple-S.

    Session Report 3 – VIDEO
    Session Report 4 – VIDEO
    Session Report 5 – VIDEO

REAL used my photographs as the awards for the competition. With a little of my help Paul Sheetz did the overlaid artwork. All the riders seemed pretty stoked on the awards. The following pictures were taken during the award ceremony.

  • REAL BVI 2008

REAL BVI 2008 is a trip to the British Virgin Islands hosted by REAL Watersports. REAL guides active adventures through the BVIs in search of wind, waves and parties. The main focus of the trip was to take part in kiteboarding, kitesurfing, surfing, standup paddleboarding, sailing and exploring. REAL offers a two one-week trips. This means the REAL Crew is down there for over 3 weeks. I was invited to document the adventure through video and photos. Below are a couple of my favorite images from the trip (all images are copyright by REAL Watersports).

Check out the video from my trip HERE.

  • REAL Shipping Box

The Real Box was designed to accommodate a wider range of Kiteboards and Surfboards. The new packaging can contain up to a 6’ Kite/Surf board. This new Packaging enables shipping of Kiteboards in all sizes stocked over 45 boards. Kiteboards and shorter Surfboards 6’ and under are secured to the corrugated insert with stretch wrap. The unit is then placed inside an assembled corrugated box. If the board is much shorter than the packaging, the packaging is cut to size. Larger surfboards require two boxes stitched together in order to adequately secure the goods.

Graphics were added to the package. The graphics were added to promote the brand identity through logo placement and increased visibility. By adding the “Fragile” warning, the need of buying the self-adhesive labels was eliminated. Although there is additional scrap, when the packaging is required to be cut down, the solution at this time is much more cost effective to the company.

    Specifications:

    – Single Wall 250lbs/in Corrugated.
    – 21 1/8” x 3 1/2” x 77 1/2”

  • 3rd place Corrugated Design

    DSC00972
    DSC00975

The results are in and I recieved 3rd place for my entry to the corrugated design competition.  Check the AICC winners HERE.

These wall pieces were made out of corrugated board.  Both single and double walled board were used to create a difference in texture.  Ardios and Auto-CAD was used to design these designs.  Then using the Ardios cutting table the pieces were cut out. Each piece was then adhered together to create each wall hanging.

    Here is the email:

    Dear Bryan:

On behalf of Chip Schiffenhaus, Chairman of the AICC Corrugated Packaging Design Committee, I congratulateyou on winning third place in the Corrugated as Art category in AICC’s 7th Annual Student Corrugated Packaging Design Competition.

More than 20 entries were received this year from students in the U. S. and Canada. In addition, the quality, innovation and creativity of these entries were considered outstanding. You should be very proud to have been a part of this year’s competition.

  • MidWest What! DVD

    BRYANELKUS_15103
MidWest What! was the dream project of Marc Moline, Steve Cummings and the rest of the Antix Crew. MWW! was a collaborative snowboarding documentary about snowboarding in the Mid-west. Watch the trailer below to get a better look at what the project was all about. Our crew traveled all over the Midwest to events and for free riding with crews from all over the Mid-west. Riders could also submit their footage. The soundtrack was also brought to you by Mid-west bands.

This film brought the Mid-west snowboarding community much closer. I joined in with the crew to film and shoot stills for part of the project. I grabbed the cover shot, while Marc did all the graphics and DVD packaging. The DVD was a huge success, selling out earlier the ever expected. The Release party had a massive turn out with a couple of the Mid-west bands playing live.

    Check out the Snowboard-mag article.
