    Kiteboarding Magazine came out this week. I was lucky enough to score a bit of coverage in this issue. First off we have Jason Slezak in a double page barrel sequence from Cape Hatteras, NC.

    Sams Bell’s floater from REAL Peru made it as a page and a half spread. Brandon Scheid got a full page shot, while Ryan Evans held it down with some teaching tips. A shot from the November storm also snuck its way into the mix.

    The two ads I made for REAL ran as well. The first was a mock up of a cover for the REAL Ad. The other was the first ad for the 2010 Triple-S Invitational announcing the invited riders.

  • REAL 2010 T-Shirt Designs

    2010 Spring/Summer Photo Shoot T-Shirt Designs

    Designing the spring/summer REAL 2010 photo shoot T’s was a blast. Even though we were under an extremely tight deadline, I was very excited on how well they came out. I worked closely with the REAL Team Manager, Jason Slezak, on the design and layouts. After narrowing the design from 15 options to 2, all that was left was to choose color and layout. The hardest part about choosing the colors was anticipating how the ink and T’s would look when wet. Some color ink and Shirt react very differently that would be expected. We decided on these two shirts.

  • Cape Hatteras Photo Book

    The Cape Hatteras (OBX) Photo Book is a compilation of photos taken throughout the course of a year in Cape Hatteras, NC. The, OBX, Outer Banks are full of perfect moments waiting to be caught on camera, but being in the right place at the right time and with a camera in hand is the hard part.

    After 365 days on this amazing island and thousands of exposures later, I came away with only a handful of keepers. The next forty pages have some of my favorite images. Take a look, show a friend and enjoy the natural and raw beauty of Cape Hatteras, NC as I see it every day.  The book is 40 pages and is 7″ x 7″

  • REAL Holiday Catalog

    The 2009 REAL Holiday Catalog has hit mailboxes across the nation. The goal of the catalog was to give our readers some good eye candy during the holiday and start of the spring season. The catalog features new products that REAL has used and has a reason for promoting, as it’s the gear we have been using.

    On the production side, things were rough. The project came to fruition only 2 week before Thanksgiving. This gave me one week for design, photo and layout and 1 week for printing and distribution. A catalog is not typically something done in a week! But, once I came up with the overall theme for the catalog things went pretty smoothly. We added in the original text and as many photos as possible to give the readers plenty to look at. Even though it was one of the most pressured projects I have worked on, it was one of the best final results I have had to date.

    After a very busy week at work putting the REAL Holiday Catalog together. I had 1 day to shoot and edit a TV spot for REAL to run during the Holiday season. So with the very little time and prep I had to get this ready, I thought it came out decently well (minus the Audio, which i didn’t have control over).

    It has been a long time coming but Jason Slezak and I finally lined up a cover shot for kiteboarding.de. This was one of the shoots we did while Andre Phillip was in town this summer. Slezy, Dre and I cranked out two fun shoots with the barrel and it seemed to be worthwhile!

    Brian Smith and I also scored a full page, while Dylan and I had a full page spread aswell.

  • ERGO Ad in Transworld

    In the Jan 2010 Transworld Surf appears a new Ergophobia ad featuring a night surf shot of Matt Keenan taken while the guys were in Cape Hatteras a few weeks back. The ad on p55 turned out stellar, so take a sneak peak, while you pick up the issue!
