  • REAL Ad in Surfer Mag

    BRYANELKUS_66557

REAL’s Ad in the summer issue of Surfer Magazine. I shot this picture a few months ago. It was a mission as the sun rose around 5-5:30 back there. It was a half hour drive not even knowing if there would be a good sunrise. Luckily there was a decent sunrise and I was able to put this shot together. The Ad is to bring awareness to the fight to keep the beaches open to people and off road vehicles. As of today 3 of the 4 ramps from Waves to Avon are closed due to animal closures.

  • Naish Triple-S Billboard

  • REAL Landing Page Upgrade

    REAL Watersports Landing Page 09

The REAL Watersports web page received a quick face-lift this week. After JD Media added to our original design to create the ‘08 landing page. We came up with the image above. This layout makes it easier for the user to find what they are looking for. REAL’s four main groups (kite, surf, standup and style) across the top and the more specific pages listed at the bottom of the page. It turned out great now it just needs the functionality incorporated into the site. REAL is also on Twitter follow HERE.

  • REAL Kite Team Shoot

The REAL Kite Team ad is complete! After three photoshoots, lots of brainstorming, and changing of locations it was finished. The shot will be used for an ad in Kiteboarding Magazine. The original version I had envisioned for the shot would have taken about a week to shoot. It would have entailed shooting each person individually at different times of the day, but with the ad being due in 3 days that was not going to be a viable solution.

The next night we shot, Jason, Sam, Brandon, Trevor and Lulu in the back yard. It all went pretty well until we noticed a couple things that needed to be changed. For one, we added a couple more people and then moved locations to satisfy the number of people.

We moved the next nights shoot to the benches in the backyard of REAL. This time I had everything setup and we had the computer there to double-check everything as we had a total of eight people plus me in the photo. It was pretty tough to get a shot where everyone was looking good enough to call it.

We scored the shot we needed and then I spent the rest of the night banging out the ad which was due first thing the next morning, talk about a tight deadline.

  • Mojo’s Sunset Cafe Website

    Picture 1

Mojo’s Sunset Café’s website is up and running. I worked with Steve to get him up and running with much thanks to Otto. It is a pretty simple site, but it gets the job done. The site offers users a look into Mojos, its menu, up coming events and daily specials via twitter. Take a look at the site and visit Mojo’s while you are in Cape Hatteras, NC.

  • REAL Retail Bags

    BRYANELKUS_36384

The REAL Watersports retail bags made their first appearance in the shop this week. The bag was a simple design. We wanted to go for a classic, bold and simple look. So we kept the classic brown bag with a bold centered logo to make it standout. It seemed to work as I was sanding up in the board loft looking down on the floor and the first thing I spotted was a female carrying that bag while shopping for clothes. I like how these turned out better than the Watermen’s Retreat Reusable Bags, because the printing turned out far superior.
