Cape Hatteras Surf Session
Cape Hatteras finally saw a swell grace our shores with its presence on Sunday. We were up at dawn to start the day. The waves were head to over head high and barreling like it only does in the Outer Banks. It was non-stop fun until the sun went down.

Fall Morning Surf Shoot
I headed out for a morning shoot with Jason, Steve, Matt and a couple of his buddies. I knew my ankle wouldn’t be at full capacity, but it fell far short of my expectations. I wound up swimming with one fin on which effectively made be a buoy in the water and made it nearly impossible to line up a shot with the guys. There were some beautiful waves coming through and they scored some nice little barrels. I again wore my 6/5/4 Billabong SG5 and was way too hot so I think that suits just going back in the closet for a month or so… -

Rob and I linked up for a shot which ran on ESPN’s website. -
Hurricane Danielle Photos Cape Hatteras, NC
Hurricane Danielle started off a bit disappointing. We surfed two days down south with pretty bad head high closing out waves. Monday proved to be a different story with the NE winds dying the surf up here cleaned up and made for a great session. I went with Tommie, Slezy, Lulu, Brad (our O’Neill Rep) and Snowey (O’Neil Guy too) to a ramp for a surf.
Everyone caught some great waves. Twords the end of the session a bunch of the East Coast Pros came out and it turned it to a punting show. With guys taking off on both sides of the A Frame and pumping down the line to a 360, shuvet or flip. It was nutty to say the least.
The next morning we headed out to a different spot to catch the dawn patrol session. It was glassy and fun! Brad dominated the session.

Weekend Surf Session
Today was pumping! The waves were head to overhead high with hard offshore winds. Tommie and I looked around for a bit then decided to head to go skate for a bit. After, we meet up with Zack and went to the pier for a surf. We scored some serious bombs after a nearly 20-30 minute paddle out. It was one of the toughest paddles all year. It was a great session nonetheless.

Cane Garden Surf Session
We were to spend the last full day on the island cleaning and packing up the boat. However to our delight a good swell was to hit so we changed all the plans. We took the truck over to Cane Garden for a surf. It was small when we got there, about waist high. By the end of the day it was a couple feet over head.
The crew had some amazing waves at this great spot. We met a couple really cool local rippers. They were taking some insane drops right next to the rocks. The barrel section was pretty tiny but some guys were getting in the slot.
I shot from the beach for a while then grabbed some waves, I headed back in to get the waterhousing and went back out for a long swim with the camera. Then I paddled out again with the crew for an amazing sunset session with head high right point break! A day to remember!

AM Surf with O’Neill Rep
Tommie, Jason, Matt and I meet up with Brad Harrell, our O’Neill Rep, for a quick surf session. There was a nasty current ripping on the inside, but there were some nice head high waves coming through. It was Tommie’s first day back on the water after breaking his leg and he scored some great waves. Brad was killing it. He had some of the best waves of the session It was a great way to start the day.
I ended the day with another terrific Cape Hatteras Sunset.
