The cove has been going off for surfing the last few days. With the light off shore breeze the waves have been very fun at the cove. Nick and I went and surfed there yesterday at lunch. I rocked the Jimmy Lewis 5’10 Rocket and Nick was on his JL 11’0 Standup Paddleboard. We went back again after work at 6 with the whole crew. And again for dawn patrol this morning. These shots are from the morning session.
Well I am wrecked after a long weekend of kiting. Saturday Nick and I got up early to hit up the lighthouse hoping that all the surfers from the ESC had left. We showed up and two surfers headed out as we were rigging up our gear. We rode for 1-2 hours and by the time we were done it was like dodging buoys. We headed to Kite Point after that. We were al lit up on the smallest kites we could find. Dave, Tommie and I took out the portakicker finally. It was fun but pretty carzy hitting the jump. I think a slider would be a bit more up my ally. Slezy, Sam and JB showed up with the floating kicker and a bucket truck for a little photoshoot. After a while I called it quits and headed to do a downwinder ocean side. We headed back to KP where the Kicker session resumed until dark.
Sunday was much the same. I rode at the lighthouse from 8 to 12 then took a break. Went back to the lighthouse again a few hours later. After that we headed to KP for a mini slider session/sunset photoshoot. It was a great weekend over all.

I headed out for a quick lunchtime shoot at the Eastern Surfing Championships. I grabbed a couple more cool shots.
Zack, Nick and I headed to the lighthouse after work to grab a session. I grabbed the 6ā8 Fish. As we were walking to the water the sun popped through the clouds. I decided to hold of on the surfing and go grab the water casing form my truck. I scored a good hour and a half of good light to shoot. I took nearly 350 pictures, however maybe 30 are decent. It was good practice though. Zack, Nick and a few surfers (Iām assuming) from the Eastern Surfing Comp were out surfing near me. Below are a couple of the pictures. After the light went bad I scored my surf session. It was a blast and we wound up riding until dark.
(EDIT): Nick, Zack, Dave and I got up early (friday) to snag another surf session at the lighthouse. The waves were very fun and slowly growing in size.
The Crew headed to the lighthouse after work to find some very small ankel high waves. It was a bust, or so i thought. I decided to head up to Avon to hit up the Grocery store since there was no session to be had. As i was heading North up Hwy 12 i looked to my left and saw the sun starting to set. I knew it was going to be a good one so luckily i had the camera in my truck. I turned of at the KP turn off and waited. here are just a couple of the shots from last nights sunset:
I went to scope out the contest at lunch. The waves were still very small being low tide at the lighthouse. But the contest was still being held. I snapped a couple more shots, though the lighting was not very good. I think ill be heading back tonight after work when the light should be better.
The Eastern Surfing Championships are being held right now at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. They are here for the week. However, with little swell, it must be tough for a championship event. We are all egger to see if we will receive any swell from the Tropical Storm to the south. If we do it should make for some excellent photos. I went out to the lighthouse last night with zack and nick to shoot. The lighthouse was busier than I have ever seen it, just full of groms. I snapped a couple shots:
Monday we setup another photoshoot. This one took place at Kite Point with the Portakicker. Moe & Davey were in town so we headed to the point for a session. Meeting us there were: Brandon, enily, nichole, slezy, julien, the st. lucia guys and tekko. The wind was light, the lighting was not very good but the kicker was in the water, so the session started. We stayed out for a good 3 hours. And ended the shoot with a few sweet shots.
The Ne winds are back again for another day, though it looks like its going to die after today. Which would not be a bad thing because i think that we all need a little break from riding. I had a killer session yesterday at the lighthouse most of the crew was there with some visiting riders. It was a good time with head high surf light up on 9 and 7ms. Kp was juicy by the time i got there after work with storm cloud lingering we decided to not head out and session the lighthouse in the morning. No luck, i was up and ready to ride before the sun came up but there was little wind and the waves died down immensely. So I took some photos instead.
