  • FCS Tech Talk

    BRYANELKUS_33273

Not to much going on today. I should have been up early sessioning today but there was a massive storm last night. The clear SW winds held for a few hours before clocking around west and cranking to 35-40. After work we had our FCS Rep stop by for another tech talk. Looks like I need some new fins!

  • Rainy Day in Hatteras

    BRYANELKUS_32964

It was a wet cloudy and chilly day in Cape Hatteras for most of the day today. It started of with a massive downpour. Its kinda funny how it always seems to rain the hardest from your car to the door.

After work, I headed over to Jason’s where Ed had started construction on a halfpipe. I took a couple photos. Then Jason and I headed down south to Avon to meet up with the Canadian crew. We met them on the beach as they were packing up from their session with a grey stormy fog rolling in quickly.

I set up my gear for a quick shot. As Jason didn’t have any gear I had him grab a quick shot of my new ride and me. Then they hooked it up with a great dinner with good food and endless laughs.

  • Resin8 Techout @REAL

    BRYANELKUS_32132

Tonight the local Resin8 Rep, Eric, came up to talk to us at the REAL Flagshipstore about the Resin8 surfboard line. The boards look fantastic and I’m excited to season to get going to try out some of their new shapes. The construction looks extremely solid. It sounds like they will be trying out a couple kite specific boards to keep up with the increased demands of kiting on a board. There is a new fish that may be calling my name.

  • Bye Bye SS Diesel

    BRYANELKUS_32089

Today, I turned in my first kite the ’05 Slingshot 13m diesel. It has found a new home as part of an art project. The kite has done me well for many years, but as of the last few it has jut been sitting wasting away. So I just had to say good bye and find it a new home.

  • DaKine Surf Gear

My Load of DaKine gear arrived today, Thanks Bill! I picked up a couple of new toys to go with my 6’8 JS Surfboard. I’m getting ready for the good spring surf sessions. I think Jason and I have another box(s) waiting in Utah for our snowkite adventure. DaKine is the best.

  • Nixon Headphone Packaging

    BRYANELKUS_21714

The new Nixon headphones showed up at the shop today. I was initially impressed with the packaging. Each pair came in a soft case to protect and carry the headphones around. The soft case is then put in an open paperboard box and then in a paperboard sleeve. The box can sit on a shelf or be hung by a tab on the top of the box. The graphics and printing boasts some nice tone on tone imagery and classy logo placements. They did a great job with this, clean and simple.

  • Craig’s List Transaction

Success! First, I didn’t get jumped, and secondly, I got my money. After realizing the two canon flashes I had were not playing well with my Pocket Wizards (wireless recievers), It was time to get rid of them.

The first thought was that I would call up canon and have them take them back. Well that didn’t go over as I hoped. One of my co-workers suggested Craig’s List. I’ve never been a huge fan of those sites like ebay. However, I am now ok with Craig’s List. I posted up the info about the flashes like their condition, cost, and pictures of the flashes. The very next day I received three offers for the flashes. Evidently, I should have charged more.

So here is how the transaction went down, straight out of a movie. He emailed me his phone number and we came up with a meeting time and location. He wanted to meet at his bank to ge the rest of the cash. I had to be up in Norfolk anyways so it worked out well. I pulled in to the bank around 6:30pm as it was bitch black. He checked out the goods. Tested the flashes and gave me the cash. We then went our separate ways. It was a weird experience to say the least. But all in all it worked out to both of our benefits.

  • Monkey

    BRYANELKUS_19990

I haven’t really shot anything in the last few days. So i got the camera out and grabbed a shot of my roommate’s cat. The cat isn’t the most normal cat ever, but she loves it.

  • Ads for Covers?

According to A Photo Editor Esquire is selling an Ad on their cover for the cover. At First, I thought that was crazy and then thought a little more into it and realize its really not all too different that what goes in some of the board sport magazines. Photos based on other qualifications rather than a good photograph.
