As a cloud of smoke overshadowed the new view of the beach from my room, I had to get up and check it out. There was smoke billowing from north of rodanthe. Just then I got a couple phone calls that said they were ding a control burn and I should go take some photos. So I rounded up the crew: Nate on video, and Ryan and i shared the Still camera and i had the small pocket camera, and we packed up the truck and headed north to check it out. The scene was amazing. They were burning the west side of Hwy 12. So here are a couple shots from the day.
