• Kiteboarding Metro Beach, MI

It was a nukefest in the midwest today. The wind was cranking, easily over 30 knots inland. By the time I made it to Lake St Clair, the wind was 35-50. I pumped up my brand new 7m Liquid Force Envy with a short line bar and headed out for a session. I was still really powered on that setup, which left the rest of the crew sitting on the beach waiting for the wind to die down a little, but it never came. Not the best day out kiting but it sure was great to get on the water!

  • Kiteboarding Lake St. Clair

We had a terrific time yesterday kiting in early spring conditions on Lake St. Clair. The small crew meet up in the afternoon and rode for a few hours in the cloudy fall looking day. The wind was cranking, people were riding 9m-12m kites. This secret location reminded me a lot of the New Inlet Downwinder in the Outer Banks. There were miles of buttery flat water and small islands to ride around and jump over. This place is really cool! I can’t wait to hit it in some warmer temperatures!

  • Early Spring in Ann Arbor

The early stages of spring have shown in mid Michigan. Mel and I ventured in to the Ann Arbor arboretum for the first time. It was still a bit early for the plant life but looking forward to going back!

  • MaiTai Utah

We had an amazing trip to Utah. Bill Tai () and Susi Mai () hosted their annual snowkiting MaiTai Trip. The event consists of a bunch of VCs, Entrepreneurs and Kite addicts who hang out, kite and talk tech.

The conditions were amazing. Although the first day brought light wind and whiteout conditions, the rest of the trip was mostly blue skies and solid 12m conditions. I had such a great time riding and meeting some very interesting people! Remi and I scored some killer shots that you are sure to see in the coming months!

Here are a couple iPhone photos from the trip:

  • Beautiful Park City

Utah has been amazing! It’s great being back in this beautiful state. The conditions on the mountain have been great with blue skies and good snow. We also got to watch my cousin Henry in his ski race. The light was pretty poor but he did great at the race.
