• West Michigan Kiteboarding

With a strong North front heading i from Wisconsin and Canada, chatter started early in the week about the possibility of some fun sessions on Lake Michigan. The buoy read 23ft and the winds were 40-50 knots when Rob and I arrive at South Haven to find a handful of surfers and a couple kiters out on 4-5m kites. We hung around for a while and decided to head north to see find a less wind location. We made it to Grand Haven. The winds were less but the waves were also much smaller. We headed out and rode until the sunset next to the lighthouse!

  • King of the Great Lakes

Last weekend was the Michigan Kiteboarding event, King of the Great Lakes. A groups of mid-west kite boarders converged upon Grand Haven, MI. The wind was less than optimal but we had enough to get out on the water and have fun.

  • SBC Kiteboard #41

SBC Kiteboard issue #41 came out. They ran one of my favorite shots from the Outer Banks Storm Photos I took last year of Brandon on the last sand dune with water rushing by. A shot of Dre tail tapping a tower of tires. That shoot took us a very long time to set up but well worth it! Brandon Scheid‘s huge tantrum from the Slick in the OBX was followed by a night rail shot of Brian Smith. Eric Rienstra closed out the issue with a sunset slider shot.

  • SBC Kiteboard #40

SBC Kiteboard issue #40 came out. LF ran a double page spread with images from the 2012 shoot. Hinano ran a great ad with pro kiteboarder Moe Goold. Greg Norman Jr. scored the double page contents spread. The issue closed with a sunset shot of brandon scheid.

  • Kiteboarding.eu Fall

Another very cool shot of Brandon Scheid came out in Kiteboarding.eu. This was taken last year with a long lens while brandon was doing some crazy kite loops on short lines.

  • Kiteworld #52

Kiteworld released issue #52 with one of my favoirite photos of kiteboarder Brandon Scheid gapping onto a rail in Hood River OR.

  • A Tawas, MI Adventure

Mel and I had a great adventure up to Tawas Michigan. I learned to kiteboard there quite a long time ago with Great Lakes Kiteboarding. It was great to get back up there and kite out in the ponds with Mel.
We had a great time staying with Sue and Mark at their amazing house on the bay. The amazing labor day bbq dinner was probably the highlight of the trip along with plenty of laughs to go along with the food and drinks.

  • 2012 LF Product Catalog

The 2012 Liquid Force Kite catalog finally came out in print. After a 2 week photo shoot in Africa and hours of design work, it was amazing to see the final product in my hand.
