The second stop on the trip back to Michigan took us to Asheville, NC. It is a very fun town filled with great places to eat and explore. We camped out next to a river for two nights. The highlight of the trip by far was driving and hiking along the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was an amazing experience, and a must see!

A Pinehurst Adventure
The first stop on our road trip was to Pinehurst, NC to visit some of Mel’s family on Grateful Farm. As hurricane Irene barreled towards the very place we just left, we had a great time relaxing and exploring the farm, while keeping an eye on all the status updates of who was leaving and who wasn’t. The farm was on a great plot of land with tall trees and rolling hills. We even had the best scrambled eggs laid on the farm before we hit the road.

The Last Week in the OBX
The last week in the Outer Banks of Cape Hatteras was a blast. Hanging out with friend, getting a few fun surf sessions and of course some wonderful sunrises and sunsets.

Surprise Slick Kite Session
With a gloomy forecast for the day, we were all elated to watch the SW slowly build in Cape Hatteras, NC. That evening we all headed out to The Slick for a great sunset kiteboarding session!

Patagonia’s New Ambassador Photo
Jason Slezak’s Patagonia profile was officially added to Patagonia’s elite list of ambassadors. Slezy has spent years working tirelessly to push the sport of kiteboarding. It’s great to see him now working closely with such a terrific company. The photo of professional kiteboarder Jason Slezak above was taken on our first trip to Norther Peru.

Scheid Cover on Kitesurf Mag.
Brandon Scheid and I scored a cover on Kitesurf Magazine. This shot was pretty intensive to setup. Brian Smith and the crew built the feature. It took us nearly 3 trips via jet ski out to a secret spot and over an hour of setup time to shoot this cover.

Surfing with Matt and Cody
I headed out in front of the house after lunch today to find Cody Craig and Matt Lane out surfing. The waves were a bit smaller than the past few days, but they still had some fun ones.

Fun OBX Summer Surf
We have had a couple days of fun shoulder high surf here in the OBX. It has still been very hot and humid as we are all looking forward to some northernly winds later this week.
